What the Universe wants...

Its striking how things have changed. And it's also striking how intentionally unaware we are of it- or at least I am. A few days back, I got a chance to look out of my usually air-conditioned car. Even when I am the one sitting near the window most of the time, it was for the first time (after a long time) that I was looking out of the window inclined towards looking at the sky. With my head half out of the window, the cool wind pressing against my cheeks, I looked at the celestial bodies out there making their presence being felt.

I remember following the moon when I was young and how magical it used to appear to me. I would wonder at the greatness of it, at how beautiful and flawless it was, and how it was everywhere I went! But now, I realized that it was the purity of the moon that had inspired me and that I admired how the moon hid the mystery of its existence.

I looked out that day, feeling lucky about how incredibly vivid the sky was then. At first the sky was just plain sky with clusters of stars. But that didn't impress me much for I wanted to find a way of noticing them individually. So, I looked at the moon first making out to the nearest star; the star next to it, the star brighter than it, the star at a distance. This way the entire sky (only the one limited to my sight, actually) appeared more sorted out than before. I remember smiling then at the insignificant, worthless mystery I had solved. I smiled at how childish it was. I smiled mainly because I was surprised how happy it made me.

I am a nature lover and I've been nurtured into being one by the nature it self. Nature has always appealed to me, attracted me towards its innocence and the modesty that it withholds. Nature has compelled me to observe and unfold the mysteries that it hides.

You know how it feels when someone puts your feelings into words in the most accurate way?
Its okay if you don't because I, myself only experienced it sometime back when I read this quote from John Green's renowned novel 'The Fault in our Stars',
"I believe the universe wants to be noticed. I think the universe is improbably biased toward the consciousness, that it rewards intelligence in part because the universe enjoys its elegance being observed."
Let me tell you the feeling is nothing superficial. Its just that it gives you internal satisfaction of the highest degree. Being humans, we just love to see people agree to us even when they are characters of a fiction novel.

Anyway, the point of all this was nothing more than pointing out one of the many things which may make your life worthwhile and bring happiness. Even when it is not the only way to happiness, it sure is ONE of them. God made the universe for our sake. I believe, one of its purposes was to amuse us. Give a hint towards what purity really is. Help us see the reflection of our souls in order to better understand ourselves. All this, just so that we can achieve satisfaction. Live our life without the fear of oblivion. Realize that 'some infinities are bigger than other infinities' and there's no end until we want one.

P.S: My request to you, just give it a try! The nature deserves to be noticed, my friend.

What restricts you from opening up?

There are times when you have your brain flooded with thoughts. Things you want to say, things you want to be heard, and things you want to keep to yourself. Times when you feel like getting those thoughts out but can't. What restricts you? Well that's the question!

(Out of the minimal experience I've had with life, I've sort of ended up believing that human nature is too complex to be understood. Too complex indeed. I don't understand how we judge others when we don't know enough about ourselves. )

As far as I've observed, its our fears that restrict us: fear of being misunderstood, fear of being exposed, and most importantly, fear of being judged. I've been a staunch advocate of how we should make a move towards understanding others instead of being judgmental, but surprisingly, there have been instances when I've been guilty of judging others. I've judged others wrongly and I regret that. When I got the chance of knowing those very people it was then  that I realized how wrong I had been. But the truth is, we truly understand the fear of being judged when we personally know how wrong it can turn out to be. So my point here is, that if not the only, one way to get rid of this fear is to stop being judgmental. (next time you consider a person naïve, look at how naïve you yourself are to think that way)

Not many people now believe that what goes around comes around, but I do. Do you feel you cant trust people? that's because you're insecure. That's because you don't trust yourself either. If trusting others is hard for you don't mind if they don't trust you back. What if they have the same insecurities as you do? Don't judge them on not being good enough to trust for you are only as good as they are.

I understand that there are deep rooted reasons to why we end up doing what we do. But take a few minutes out and think over why something happened. Remember to keep your ego aside. Keep yourself in the shoes of the other person. Consider their perspective. You may be right but there might be times when their position seems equally justifiable.

So next time you feel threatened by any of those fears, make an attempt at trusting yourself. Once you trust yourself it will be easy to trust others. It will be hard to do but it will work out. (It worked out in my case!) Be the person you like to meet. Be the best friend you want to be. Not everyone will like you and you shouldn't mind that because each individual has his/her preferences. However, changing yourself in this way will help you in making friends and being surrounded by people you like (even if they're just a handful!). Thus beat your fears my friend! Don't keep them thoughts and feelings inside. Share them. Enjoy them.
 Be the change you want!

"Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?"

"Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?" Bob Marley
I was just scrolling down my Facebook page when I saw the above quote. Even though, I have no idea who Bob Marley is (or was) I decided to start my second entry of this blog with the respective quote because of how intriguing it is. Simple yet exceptionally deep. But is it just me or it really is?

Occupied with plenty of things external to us, we fail to save some time for ourselves. We've become materialistic. Not necessarily because we give excessive importance to materialism but because we have acquainted the sense of satisfaction and happiness with material things and maybe- just maybe- this is why we rarely find fully satisfied people around us. We associate contentment and pleasure with the number of possessions. This leads us not only to misinterpret the lives of others but also to largely misunderstand them.

I know I am dealing with a lot of different aspects here: materialism, satisfaction, interpretations. But look closely and you'll see the relation. Are we really satisfied with our lives or we just pretend that we are? I believe its the latter. But u know what? Its not our fault because we unknowingly have developed this habit of classifying our state of satisfaction by comparing it with others. For instance, satisfaction and joy comes from knowing that you have the most expensive car in town or that your grades are better than 90% of the class. Instead of being a matter of internal solace or fulfilling of pre-set expectations, satisfaction is now a product of discontentment of others. Sounds unpleasant, right? Sadly enough, it is the bitter truth.

Conversely, we judge others on this basis too. For example, an affluent individual is expected to be the epitome of satisfaction. He has everything, why then would he not be satisfied? Instead of helping out and supporting such individuals, we overlook them and leave them on their own to overcome their lack of contentment- alone.

Our lives would be much better if satisfaction came in the purest of its means: gratification of a desire or fulfilment of a need. Open your eyes to look within. Be true to yourself and see if you really are satisfied. Are you truly content? Is your contentment a result of your personal and spiritual accomplishments or things (even people) external to you? Close your eyes and think for your own self. Feel your soul. Feel every breath closely. For a minute, keep aside all your thoughts and feel the real essence of life.
Do u sense it?
No.
You will.
When?
When you're thankful for what you have and not what others have. When you enjoy for the sake of  yourself and not for the sake of showing others. When you appreciate others with purest of intentions. When you're happy because of your accomplishments and for others on theirs. Then you will find yourself smiling back to the young ones, to the elderly, to the blossoming flower, to the sky full of twinkling stars. Its then that you'll be most truly satisfied.

The first shot at life...

Life - is and has always been the pivot of my thoughts since probably the very first instant I got hold of my senses. I've discovered my interest in the affairs of life- not only relating to me but others too- and have spent my time pondering over the mere possibilities of life tricking us into something we never expected.
Well, you know what? This is what this blog will mostly focus on- life. I'm neither a professional nor an expert, but I believe my observations will be of help to you. Because theory can only inform us. The real essence of learning comes from practical experiences. This being the very first post, I welcome ya'll to the No Man's Land. Help me and yourself discover what life really is before it's too late...
